Greg Camphire comes to Scoop Marketing from a varied background as a music journalist, performing musician, band manager and marketing representative. Graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in English Writing/Journalism as well as earning a degree in Music Performance from Hollywood’s Musicians Institute, Camphire embarked on a career that combined his dual skills in writing and performing with a strong interest in the business side of the music industry.
Camphire’s writing and editorial skills were further honed during a two-year stint as New Release Editor at respected monthly music magazine ICE in Los Angeles, where he covered a wide variety of artists and events including the Flaming Lips, Run-D.M.C. and the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and interacted on a regular basis with all major and independent U.S. record labels and publicity firms in the industry. At the same time, Camphire continued to play with a variety of artists on stage and in the studio, while managing, promoting and marketing his own bands.
Since joining Scoop Marketing in 2006, Camphire has applied his writing, editorial and marketing skills to serve Scoop clients including Leonard Cohen, Steely Dan, Britney Spears, Pink, Miley Cyrus, Clint Black, Bon Jovi, KISS, Ticketmaster, Front Line Management, Goldenvoice, A&M/Octone Records, Nederlander Concerts, NME Awards USA, and more.
