Erik Stein

headshotErik brings his specialized publicity knowledge and extensive experience, covering a wide variety of music genres, to Scoop Marketing. Erik’s music practice at Scoop covers concert events and album releases in the realm of alternative, indie, rock, country, hip-hop and pop music. Artists represented (or previously handled) in those areas include blink-182, Bon Jovi, Clint Black, KISS, Nickelback, Rob Thomas, REO Speedwagon, Steely Dan, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Weezer, just to name a few. Erik also oversees press efforts for festivals, events and venues such as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductions (2013), the Hangout Music Fest (Pollstar’s “Festival Of The Year” in 2011), the “Fabulous” Forum, and Fathom Events. Additionally, Erik handles corporate publicity for entertainment companies, plus oversees the media relations on behalf of the firm’s technology clients.

Prior to Scoop, Erik operated a boutique PR firm, Arsenal PR. In December of 2006, he closed Arsenal PR to join Scoop Marketing; a firm he feels reflects the artist-driven ideals he strives to achieve.

Previously, Erik was employed for more than a decade by the Universal Music Group, starting in 1995 as Manager of Publicity for MCA Records and rising to Senior Director of Publicity at Geffen Records. At UMG, he represented a wealth of successful acts, including blink-182, DJ Shadow, Live, New Found Glory, Papa Roach, Rise Against, Rob Zombie, She Wants Revenge, Sublime, Tommy Lee, and more. Erik is also credited in being integral in the company’s establishment of a joint-venture with successful indie label Drive-Thru Records.
